Job Title: QC Lab Technician
Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated QC Lab Technician to ensure the quality and safety of raw materials, production batches, and end products. The ideal candidate will perform QC testing, Xray lab testing, and daily QA checks while promoting and adhering to plant safety guidelines.

ResponsibilitiesConduct QC testing of raw materials, production batches, and end products.Run Xray lab testing.Perform daily QA checks for plant safety, process SOPs, quality of products, and manufacturing processes.Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.Observe all applicable safety policies and regulations.Comply with the plant sampling schedule of process samples, as determined by the Quality Control Manager.Collect representative raw mill product and kiln feed samples and conduct appropriate tests to assure proper control and maintenance of raw kiln feed chemistry according to quality targets.Perform formulation and raw mill feeder adjustments as needed to maintain quality targets.Collect representative clinker samples and conduct appropriate tests to ensure and maintain proper clinker chemistry according to quality targets.Collect representative finish mill samples, and conduct appropriate tests and finish mill feeder adjustments to ensure and maintain proper cement chemistry according to quality targets.Analyze coal samples for fineness and moisture.Collect representative bag house dust samples and conduct appropriate tests at intervals decided by the Quality Control Manager.Analyze bottom stage samples for loss on ignition and oxide analysis and determine percent calcination of sample.Maintain accurate records in designated log books and locations for all testing performed and adjustments made.Check grinding aid and masonry additive flow rates at intervals set by the Quality Control Manager.Report problems observed in the plant and ensure all samplers are working properly.Work routinely with Control Room Operators and shift supervisors.Indirectly report to shift supervisors on off-shifts.Communicate test results to production personnel and issue process and production change orders.Assist in maintaining lab reagents and supplies.Perform additional non-routine testing for process control and research when necessary.Responsible for housekeeping and clean-up of immediate work areas and sample areas or in other areas in conjunction with assigned duties.Responsible for documentation associated with job duties.Essential SkillsQuality controlProductionQuality standardsSOPsLaboratoryQuality assuranceAdditional Skills & QualificationsQuality Assurance experience is a plusWork Environment

The position involves working in a QC laboratory and processing plant with outdoor conditions that are non-climate controlled.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
