Job Description
Assisting with plant cleanliness and organization by implementing LEAN principles. Responsibilities include constructing shop aids, applying labels, paint, and tape to various surfaces, interfacing with department personnel for continuous improvement, cutting and assembling lightweight pipe and wood pieces, assisting in the design of fixtures, and maintaining floor coatings.
ResponsibilitiesConstruct shop aids (e.g., cutting wedges, boxes, trays) to support 5S initiatives.Apply labels, paint, and tape to flooring, shop aids, and other equipment to assist in department organization.Actively interface with department personnel regarding continuous improvement efforts, including cost-saving and safety improvements.Cut lightweight pipe and wood pieces, assemble with brackets, fittings, and castors, and deliver finished components to the department as needed.Assist in the design of various fixtures, shop aids, and tables as requested.Installation and maintenance of floor coatings.Essential Skills6 months of experience using hand and power tools.Ability to lift and maneuver 30-50lbs.Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, lift, and walk throughout the shift.Additional Skills & QualificationsCustodial, handyman, or facilities maintenance experience is a plus.Familiarity with LEAN Manufacturing principles is a big plus.Why Work Here?The company offers significant opportunities for growth in pay and advancement.
