ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB’s Bedford, NH office is seeking an entry level Site Civil Engineer to support our Land Engineering practice.

 

Responsibilities

Work within a team of professionals in developing site civil engineering plans, reports, and specifications for a multitude of land development projects. Provide civil engineering services for retail, residential, institutional, renewable energy, municipal, and industrial site design, including site layout, grading and drainage design, and utility design.Preparation and/or reviewing design criteria, drawings, and specifications. Compilation of stormwater management reports, including hydrologic modeling and pipe sizing.Assist in the preparation of due diligence, permitting, design, and construction documentsTechnical report writingAttending meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/permitting issuesAttend site visits during the course of the project

Skills and Attributes

Ability to think critically and creatively in a team-focused environmentExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsAutoCAD,  HydroCAD, StormCAD, ArcGIS experience a plusAttention to detailSelf-motivatedKnowledge of local and state regulations governing site design preferred

Qualifications

BS in Civil Engineering (a master’s may be substituted for 2 years of experience)0-1 years of professional site/civil engineering experience Individuals holding active OSHA 10-Hour Construction.EIT/FE preferred, or the ability to obtain within 6 months
