**Entry-Level Substation Electrical Engineer** Location **Houston** Job Code **17304** \# of openings **2** Apply Now (https://phh.tbe.taleo.net/phh04/ats/careers/v2/applyRequisition?org=POWERENGINEERS&cws=44&rid=17304) **Entry-Level Substation Electrical Engineer** **Job Summary** POWER Engineers is currently seeking an Entry-Level Substation Electrical Engineer to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department in our Houston, Texas office. This is an in-office position, but flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (employee will need to live within commutable distance of the office). **Responsibilities** The Entry-Level Substation Electrical Engineer will share responsibility with the rest of the department to produce a product consistent with POWER's mission statement and our culture. They are expected to support the department in achieving its goals of the department, maintain POWER's high-quality standards, promote internal teamwork, and meet the needs of our clients. + Perform the detailed design of low to extra-high voltage substations including, but not limited to: + One-line diagrams + Schematics + Wiring diagrams + SCADA + Communications + Station physical layouts + Sections/Elevations + Cable and conduit plans and details + Ground grid design and details + Foundation plans and details + Structural plans and details + Control enclosure design and details + Lightning protection plans + Yard lighting plans + Bills of Materials + Site visits + Support QA/QC for deliverables to clients + Shall learn, understand, and adhere to client standards and processes while working individually or within a team to complete complex and technically challenging designs + Occasional travel **Required Education/Experience** + BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) degree, from an accredited university preferably with a power option + Strong knowledge and understanding of electrical engineering to build on + Candidates should enjoy living in the Houston area, or have a desire and ability to relocate there with minimal assistance + Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel + Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship **Desired Education/Experience** + At least three months of relevant electrical engineering work experience; could be on an internship or co-op basis + Minimum 2.5 Grade Point Average (GPA) + Knowledge of electrical utility substations and familiarity with substation design + Engineer In Training certificate (EIT) or passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam At POWER Engineers, you can have a rewarding career on every level.
