Entry-Level Transportation Engineer

Jacobs is seeking a highly motivated Transportation Engineer in Naples, Florida who wants to make a difference in their community through solving the exciting engineering challenges facing its transportation clients. This position will primarily support junior, mid-level and senior-level engineers and project managers to provide transportation planning and engineering, site/civil, utility, permitting etc. services for various transportation infrastructure projects currently being delivered, business development tasks for projects being pursued, as well as assist with client and public interaction.
Each day, you will be an important team member as you participate in the design, coordination, and execution of projects for our clients. Our senior engineers are committed to strong mentorship and providing opportunities to work independently and with peers. You should be a self-motivated professional with a desire to grow personally and professionally with each project while delivering transformative projects for our clients, in our diverse and fast-paced office.
Our Civil Engineers perform a wide variety of routine assignments which are clearly defined and require the application of standard design engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. In this role, you will:
* Assist junior, mid-level and senior-level engineers with the preparation of planning and design documents, reports, studies, and calculations.
* Serve as a field inspector/engineer for the construction management and oversite of projects.
* Prepare traffic and drainage models, engineering specifications, data sheets, sketches, drawings and perform calculations in support of engineering activities.
* Possess an outgoing and positive attitude, are dependable and meet all assigned project deadlines.
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
* Ability to observe and track construction activities and associated documents.
* Demonstrated report writing, communication and management skills to meet project objectives and work with tight deadlines.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Previous internship experience with a consulting/construction firm serving municipal clients
* Professional society involvement or willingness to join/participate.
* Adept at interpersonal relationship building, conflict resolution, and participating in diverse teams
