VHB’s growing New York City team is looking for an entry-level Transportation/Traffic Engineer to join our Mobility group. Responsibilities
Working within a team of professionals in developing mobility and transportation planning and engineering solutions for a multitude of transportation projectsTraffic impact studiesTraffic modeling using a variety of toolsSafety studiesTransportation planning analyses Research and interpret transportation data, community statistics and demographics to assess the mobility needs of a community Prepare written planning documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reportsTraffic data collection and tabulationIntersection and roadway level of service analysesDevelopment, analysis and evaluation of traffic improvementsDesign of traffic control devicesSkills and Abilities
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Self-motivated Attention to detail Ability to think critically Strong computer skills Excel in working in a team environmentQualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field, with coursework in Transportation/Traffic Engineering (Master’s Degree in Transportation Engineering would be a plus)Minimum of 0-1 years of civil / transportation engineering / planning experience Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation or model-based design a plusExperience with VISSIM, Synchro and HCS a plusExperience with ArcGIS a plusExperience with VBA, PYTHON, SQL, and databases a plus***Cover letters preferred***
Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in New York City is $78,000-$84,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.
