Our firm’s Water Business Line, currently comprised of nearly 130 professionals, evaluates, designs and optimizes all types and sizes of water, wastewater and stormwater facilities and systems. We are looking for dynamic and driven Entry Level Water/Wastewater Engineers to work in our Miami, FL Office.
Successful candidates will use their technical abilities to assist Project Managers and Project Engineers with water, wastewater and stormwater services and help our public and private clients meet their engineering needs, while working in a dynamic team setting.
Responsibilities:
Participate in the planning, design and construction administration of water, wastewater and municipal infrastructure facilities/projectsConduct site visits, surveys and inspections, and assist with data collection and compilation for utility infrastructure projectsSupport the preparation of technical reportsAssist in the development of design plans, specifications and cost estimatesAssist with the preparation of federal, state and local permit applicationsPerform construction observation and field engineering servicesAssist with the preparation of grant/funding applications BS in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering (MS is preferred)Master’s Degree Preferred0 - 2 years’ experience EIT is preferred. If the candidate does not possess the EIT, the candidate will be required to obtain the EIT within the first year of employment to remain on a track to receive their PEStrong written and verbal communication skills with ability to assist in/conduct effective client presentations and prepare written reportsExperience working with municipal and private utilities is a plusProgressive experience in evaluation, design, permitting and construction administration of infrastructure improvements will be favorably consideredPhysically able to perform work in the fieldTeam player possessing strong planning and organizational skillsMust be proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite and use of standard engineering softwareWorking knowledge of BIM, Civil 3D, GIS, hydraulic/hydrologic modeling and other specialty engineering software also beneficialAt Gannett Fleming, we believe in improving the lives of the people we serve.
