Job Overview + Develops effective safety programs through root cause analysis and develop and drive the countermeasure process. + Administers the in-plant safety activities by monitoring and developing effective programs to improve CMO’s safety culture. + Assists with compliance all environmental regulatory requirements of state and Federal government. + Ensures best management practices in safety, environmental preservation, and manufacturing initiatives. Key Job Responsibilities + Lead the implementation and refinement of EHS initiatives, best practices, and policies to ensure safe working conditions and sound environmental practices for CMO Operations + Communicate, partner, and discuss with Operations management performance objectives and compliance issues as needed + Drive continuous improvement of the EHS performance for the CMO Operations. + Guide Operation pollution prevention and waste minimization efforts in reducing the overall cost in facility waste management and recycling efforts. + Direct CMO Operations in achieving overall facility compliance and place focus on moving beyond compliance Qualifications/Requirements + Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience and/or equivalent experience and education. Equivalent experience should be 10 years manufacturing experience with half directly related to EHS policies and practices. Professional safety certifications recommended + Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the safety function within a manufacturing environment including OSHA and EPA regulations + Knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations and how to find the regulations + Knowledgeable of company past practices, policies, and procedures + Strong written and oral communications skills, ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment. Excellent computer skills, such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, required + Ability to work effectively even under pressure.
