**Environmental, Health & Safety Senior Specialist**
**Position Summary**
Catalent’s Greenville, N.C. facility specializes in end-to-end turn-key solutions for oral solid dosage forms, including integrated formulation development, analytical services, commercial manufacturing, and packaging. The Environment, Health and Safety Senior Specialist reports to the EHS Manager and is responsible for assisting in the
development, implementation and continuous improvement of Catalent’s environmental, health and safety management
system (EHSMS) by ensuring compliance with Federal and State regulations following Catalent Pharma Solutions’ guidelines. The Environmental, Health and Safety Senior Specialist will also provide guidance and technical assistance to all levels within the organization in identifying, evaluating, and correcting health and safety hazards.

**The Role**
+ Develop and manage EH&S programs, as part of the EH&S management system, including, but not limited to, risk assessments,jobsafetyassessments,industrialhygiene,hazardcommunication,wastemanagement,potent compound processes, and product specific handling requirements to ensure employee health and safety, as well as regulatory compliance.
+ Manage, develop and implement required EH&S policies, procedures and programs in accordance with relevant
+ State and Federal regulations, local ordinances and Corporate Polices.
+ Coordinateandconductindustrialhygieneassessmentprocesses,includingscreeningandmonitoring,to determine employee personal exposure prior to, and following, control measures aimed at eliminating or minimizing employee exposure to hazardous substances.
+ Play an integral role in EH&S employee consultation and participation programs, including, but not limited to, Safety, Sustainability and the EH&S Steering Committee.
+ ConductEHSaudits,inspections,hazardassessments,andinvestigationsofviolationsasrequiredandmake recommendations as necessary.
+ Responsible for waste management programs across all waste streams (hazardous, non-hazardous, biohazardous, pharmaceutical)including,butnotlimitedto,wasteminimization,reporting,inspections,shipping,training,and regulatory inspections.
+ Developandconductemployeetrainingatalllevelsoftheorganization,includingnewhires,ontheEHS management system.
+ All other duties as assigned.
**The Candidate**
+ Bachelor’s degree in industrial safety, occupational/industrial hygiene, environmental science or in a physical science with 5 years of progressive EH&S experience.
+ Working knowledge of OSHA General Industry and Construction standards and EPA regulations.
+ Ability to understand, interpret, and apply directives, laws, rules and regulations.
+ Must have excellent people and communication skills with the ability to build trust and maintain a high level of integrity to support our safety culture.
+ Ability to answer on-call duties outside of normal working hours.
+ Position may require some travel (new product/equipment evaluation, professional development, etc.).
+ Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
+ Some exposure to environments containing hazardous chemicals and active pharmaceutical ingredients while wearing appropriate PPE.
+ Position requires the capacity to handle and manipulate objects using hands and arms and climb stairs.
+ This position requires that a respirator be worn for your safety, and as such, employment is contingent upon being able to complete a medical evaluation with satisfactory results. The medical evaluation is conducted via an external vendor assigned by Catalent.
