CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our Power & Manufacturing – Environmental Team at our Bethlehem, PA or Brooklyn, NY office.

YOUR IMPACT

CHA’s engineers, ecologists and scientists partner with clients to develop practical solutions that strike the right balance between environmental sustainability, community needs and cost. We’re uniquely qualified to assist with environmental services from initial site characterization through remediation. CHA draws on the expertise of technical professionals with decades of practical experience in environmental site assessment, brownfield remediation, and mitigation techniques.

 

Our Scientists are experts with the company’s and client’s methods, standard operating procedures, reporting templates, and practices. This key position at CHA conducts field work and analyzes data in order to prevent and/or solve environmental problems. The professional in this role recognizes areas for process improvements and leads successful implementation. The Scientist plays an important role in mentoring and directing junior scientists on routine field assignments and tasks.

 

Field investigations and research to determine the suitability of the project site for proposed use is a major part of this role, including reviewing and evaluating the potential impact of federal, state and local environmental legislation. Our Scientists develop and maintain effective working relationships with groups and individuals, agencies, and the public in order to encourage cooperative management strategies or to develop information and interpret findings. This individual will also participate in public information meetings and hearings.

REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or related field   Minimum of 3 years of related experience requiredKnowledge of and/or experience with all or some of the following:PBS/CBS Compliance – NYS & FederalEnvironmental Compliance AuditingEPCRA – Tier II, Form R ReportingSPCC/SPR Plan DevelopmentSPDES Permitting and ComplianceCooling Tower/Building Water Program Development and ComplianceOSHA Programs a plusPossesses a thorough understanding of the respective scientific discipline with proficient regulatory knowledge and understandingExperience with Microsoft Word & Excel is required; ArcMap or basic GIS Mapping experience a plusStrong ability to work in a team environmentEffective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiencesAbility to problem solve and provide unique solutionsMust have the ability to work in the field in different weather conditionsValid US driver's license is required  SALARY RANGE:

$67,000 - $82,000

 

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
