Additionally, you can count on excellent benefits, a comprehensive PTO plan, uncapped career growth, and the best people in the industry.  You can learn more about our career opportunities here:   Summary   As the Environmental Department Manager - Senior Engineer/Geologist/Scientist you will be responsible for managing the technical, operational, and financial aspects of the environmental practice line for the state of Alabama. This position oversees and directs environmental professionals responsible for drilling, sample/data collection, subcontractor tasks, evaluates data, and compiles written reports for submittal to clients and regulatory agencies. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPlease note that the duties below may vary based on the changing needs of the company.  ·         Manage environmental projects, including site characterization, due diligence, property transactional services, remedial designs and implementation, and preparation of reports and other related documentation·         Develop and network with new and existing clients to effectively position for and develop work opportunities·         Prepare contract proposals and cost estimates.·         Manage project contracts, staff, budgets, and schedules·         Perform, analyze and report on specific environmental project tasks under general supervision and research and recommend solutions to technical problems in accordance with accepted scientific/engineering practices and principles·         Play an active role in the mentorship and development of junior staff on environmental projects
Qualifications·         B.S. or M.S. Engineering, Scientific Discipline, or related technical field·         10+ years of environmental consulting experience, with a strong focus on soil and groundwater assessments. ·         Familiarity and understanding of regulations and implementation of programs under the Alabama Department of  Environmental Management (ADEM).·         Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills·         Demonstrated abilities in leadership, management, and administration·         Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships·         Demonstrated ability and willingness to develop business from new and existing clients
