Your OpportunityAs an Environmental Engineer in Training, you will work with close guidance and supervision on tasks and smaller projects, and as a team member of a larger project under the guidance of a senior engineer/designer. You will participate in the evaluation, recommendation, and specification of engineering principles to select the best plan involving the collaboration with multiple stakeholders and expertise within the company. You will assist in verifying compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards/practices.
Your Key Responsibilities Works with other engineering disciplines and professionals in the coordination of the project under the direction of a senior engineer/designer. Reviews data and writes reports; develops and implements work plans. Assist with design work on soil and ground water remediation and environmental compliance projects. Performs field work as directed by a senior engineer/designer. Assists with basic engineering duties on projects of various complexity. Performs other duties as assigned by the senior engineering staff. Provides environmental monitoring services on projects. Assist with onsite construction observation, contractor coordination, and daily inspection reports. Assist with the review of contractor submittals, respond to Requests for Information (RFIs), and as-built survey review. Able to liaise between clients, contractors, municipal officials and third parties on site. Working understanding of policies and procedures for HSSE, including client-specific training (as required). Your Capabilities and Credentials Basic understanding of all phases of engineering document production. Knowledge of technical specifications and bid documents. Knowledge of GIS mapping and analysis. Recognizes when technical problems are developing and initiates appropriate corrective actions. Ability to check own work for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule. Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought. Ability to perform construction observation and coordinate with Contractors. Ability to communicate in a professional and positive manner, both in writing and in person, with clients, employees, and visitors. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen. Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record. Education and ExperienceRequired:
Bachelor’s degree in civil, chemical, environmental, water resources or mechanical engineering and EIT. Minimum of 1-3 years of experience. Working toward licensure.Preferred:
