**Description**
Environmental Engineer
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Leading and overseeing water/wastewater engineering design
+ Providing design criteria for external engineering firms and review designs for accuracy and compliance
+ Applying innovative treatment processes to remove pollutants from water and wastewater, including emerging contaminants
+ Developing feasibility study, basis of design, and performance monitoring reports
+ Developing engineer’s construction cost estimates for treatment systems
+ Supporting permitting efforts with local, regional, and federal permitting agencies
+ Developing construction documents, including design drawings, specifications, bid forms, and startup plans
+ Conducting or overseeing field investigations and construction support services
+ Managing multi-disciplinary project teams, including internal and external stakeholders
+ Interacting with client representatives and regulatory agencies
Education
+ Bachelor's degree in chemical, environmental, or civil engineering, with emphasis on water or wastewater treatment or closely related discipline. PE preferred but not required
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
+ At least 5 years (7+ preferred) of direct environmental engineering experience
+ Experience leading and/or support water/wastewater treatment design projects
+ Experience with biological treatment system design
+ Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams
+ Proven leadership skills
+ Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to facilities as needed
+ Experience working on a variety project types and in a variety of roles (e.g., project engineer and project manager) within an industrial water/wastewater environment
+ Experience in the design of systems to handle high strength nutrient loads in an industrial environment
