Job Description
We are seeking an Environmental Engineer to evaluate client compliance with Federal, State, and local regulatory agency laws and regulations, providing compliance evaluations and remediation recommendations. You will manage our proprietary compliance tracking software to help our clients stay in compliance and evaluate fuel oil tank compliance with various agencies' regulations. The role includes preparing Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures (SPCC) plans and conducting relevant training, as well as analyzing potential environmental and safety issues through quarterly fuel tank audits.
ResponsibilitiesEvaluate client compliance with Federal, State, and local regulatory agency laws and regulations.Provide compliance evaluations and remediation recommendations.Utilize and manage proprietary compliance tracking software.Evaluate fuel oil tank compliance with US Environmental Protection Agency, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), county agencies, and New York City Department of Buildings regulations.Prepare Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures (SPCC) plans and conduct SPCC training.Conduct NYSDEC Department of Environmental Remediation (DER)-40 training for petroleum tank operators.Analyze potential environmental and safety issues through quarterly fuel tank audits, providing clear findings and recommendations.Liaise with subcontractors, relaying requirements, assuring quality work, escalating issues, and enabling timely project completion.Conduct research projects, write documentation, and prepare responses to requests for quotation (RFQ) and requests for proposal (RFP).Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.0-2 years of experience in environmental science, environmental engineering, and environmental compliance.Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel.Ability to interface with clients effectively.Open to traveling to job sites in Westchester and NYC.Additional Skills & QualificationsProficiency in AutoCAD, Airmod, and EPA programs.Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.Knowledge of petroleum, permitting for fuel tanks, and color coding fill ports.Experience with air monitoring, hazardous waste reporting, or stormwater inspections.Work Environment
The work environment includes an 8-5 pm schedule with an hour for lunch, working in an office in White Plains or at job site locations. The team is youthful and collaborative, with a strong emphasis on culture and willingness to learn. Employees receive immediate client exposure, autonomy, and are not expected to do a lot of overtime work. Additionally, there is a 10% profit share of salary.
