Job Summary

We are looking for an Environmental Engineer to join our Operations team at our South Brunswick, NJ plant. This role is critical to the daily operations of the Plant and is responsible for managing all Environmental (Earth, Air, Water) related functions for the site. The ideal candidate has experience in environmental engineering, PH Plant operations, project management, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities

Responsible for all local and state regulations including ensuring proper permits are in place and maintained.Lead Environmental and Sustainability based capital projects and R&M projects repairs.Manage and coordinate all internal and external environmental audits including DPCC, ISO14001, Right to Know Surveys, and Environmental reviews.Lead IFF’s Sustainability Program (Green Team) for the South Brunswick Nourish site and plan site-wide environmental initiatives.Responsible for the coordination of hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposalDirect report includes one Jr. Environmental Engineer.Responsible for ensuring proper oversight and maintenance of our location’s wastewater pretreatment facility and potable water system.Responsible for communication with external service providers for environmental and water treatment operations.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in Environmental Engineering).5+ years of experience working in environmental engineering role within a production plant setting.Familiarity of Environmental audits including ISO 14001.Working knowledge of NJ DEP & US EPA requirements & regulations (DPCC, RCRA, Air, etc.).Previous supervisor experience strongly preferred.Previous experience working in a manufacturing flavors industry a plus.
