Job Description
National employee-owned, full service engineering and environmental sciences consulting firm is seeking a dedicated Environmental Engineer to perform field investigations and ensure workplans are followed correctly with proper data handling. The role involves site inspections, soil characterization, and groundwater sampling. You will also be responsible for performing and overseeing operation and maintenance tasks on remediation systems, including groundwater treatment, soil vapor extraction (SVE), air sparging systems, and non-aqueous phase liquid (NAPL) recovery systems.
ResponsibilitiesPerform field investigations including site inspections, soil characterization, and groundwater sampling.Oversee operation and maintenance tasks on remediation systems.Document subcontractor activities on client sites ensuring adherence to work scopes.Collate, tabulate, and interpret data to develop site conceptual models supporting the identification of sources and routes of exposure to human health and the environment.Work with senior staff to prepare plans and specifications for the investigation and remediation of hazardous waste sites and brownfields.Manage project schedules.Conduct Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) activities including field inspections, laboratory testing, documentation, verification, and problem resolution.Essential SkillsSite InvestigationSite remediationOperation and maintenance of environmental remediation systemsConstruction Quality Assurance (CQA)Construction materials testingRegulatory complianceReport writingAdditional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.8-hour HAZWOPER refresher trainingFamiliarity with well installation, auger, soil sampling, vapor extraction, and groundwater samplingExperience in conducting feasibility studiesMechanical skills related to remediation systems40-hour OSHA certificationAbility to obtain medical clearance to work on hazardous waste sitesCurrent valid driver’s license
Work Environment
The team typically works 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with an average of 3-4 days in the office and hybrid work-from-home arrangements allowed. The office culture is built on great teamwork, with senior leaders available 4-5 days per week for staff questions and mentoring.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
