Environmental Engineer

Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opportunity for an Environmental Engineer at our Coatesville Works operation. As an Environmental Engineer, you must possess broad experience and knowledge in overall environmental programs to maintain compliance with applicable Federal, State, and local EPA, DOT, and NRC regulations.

Summary of Responsibilities

Guide environmental processes/policiesReview and communicate environmental standardsAssist with environmental data acquisition, management, and reporting processes that support adherence to the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, and Resource Conservation & Recovery Act requirementsAssist with special projects and environmental investigations supporting compliance with applicable permits and rulesProviding technical and regulatory guidance in response to environmental upsets, releases, and other events; analyzing environmental data, recommending corrective actions for improving performance; developing and implementing solutions for non-compliance events, including management system and control system improvementsConducting audits to ensure plant operations conform to regulatory requirements and company policy


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in biology, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or related discipline2 years of Environmental Engineering Experience


Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science2-5 years of Environmental Engineering Experience in the manufacturing industry environmental experienceFamiliarity with all major environmental disciplines Air, Water, Solid Waste, SARA, etc.Able to manage several projects at a time and make timely and accurate decisionsMust be able to work in an office setting and the plant. This will include wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and may include temperature extremes while walking in the facilityKnowledge of Microsoft applications, computer skills, and data analysis skills are required
