_Platinum Group Metal Services (PGMS) is a leading refiner and recycler of precious group metals. The growing demand for low carbon and responsibly sourced products is creating growth opportunities in critical metals recycling and secondary refining, and as the world’s largest precious metals recycler, PGMS is a key player in the circular economy._
Under the direction of the West Deptford Sr Environmental Compliance Engineer and the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager, this position is responsible for the execution of site environmental programs and activities in support of the Chemicals and Refining business.
An employee in this position shall be trained in Discharge Prevention Containment and Countermeasures (DPCC) regulations and are responsible for proper identification and notification of spills and leaks of hazardous substances. Employees assigned to work with Extraordinarily Hazardous Substances (EHS) or processes, as defined within the scope of the New Jersey State Toxic Catastrophic Prevention act (TCPA), must be fully trained and qualified in accordance with State-mandated regulations and company requirements. Additionally, employees assigned to work with hazardous wastes shall be trained and qualified in proper management practices for hazardous wastes that they manage per the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).
**Your responsibilities:**
+ To develop, lead, organize and execute JM programs in environmental, health and safety that are effective in protecting the community, employees and property. (site basis)
+ To direct and perform the audit of practices, procedures, programs, designs, and methods of operation to assure compliance with JM standards, regulatory requirements, ISO14001 and RC14001 standards, and acceptable work practices.
+ To monitor compliance with the Title V air permit, NESHAP and NSPS requirements, Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems, CERCLA/EPCRA Continuous Release Report and Toxic Release Inventory, and other relevant air regulations.
+ To conduct regulatory inspections and plan reviews, environmental incident reports and investigations.
+ To support other team members on matters of wastewater compliance, hazardous waste management, TSCA Compliance, and training for new and current employees in environmental topics.
+ To interface with line and staff organizations and assist in the development and strengthening of employee environmental training programs.
+ To interface with Corporate EHS, legal, insurance, human resources, and public affairs in environmental matters.
+ To maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area in accordance with applicable company health, safety, and environmental policies.
+ To adhere to company policies regarding the proper accounting, handling, and disposal of controlled dangerous substances.
+ To attend company sponsored safety meetings (mandatory).
+ To assist facility managers in the development of environmental targets and investigation of incidents.
+ To represent JM at discussions with state and local authorities on significant issues dealing with environmental matters.
+ To perform other duties as required.
**Requirements for the role:**
+ B.S. Degree in Environmental/Chemical Engineering
+ 10+ years of experience in support of pharmaceutical, organic chemical or petrochemical facility operation
+ A working knowledge of Federal laws and regulations, governing environmental issues is required. Familiarity with New Jersey laws and regulations preferred. Experience with Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) strongly preferred
+ Experience with reports such as Periodic MACT, Batch Plant, Emission Statements, TRI, EEMPR, and Title V is required
+ Must have the ability to interact and communication successfully with regulatory and government agencies at Local, State and Federal levels
+ Good oral and written communication skills
