**Environmental Engineer - San Jose, CA**
**Salary:** $115,000 - $150,000 per year

**Role Overview**
Develop, implement, and manage environmental programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Oversee environmental initiatives and process improvements while supporting manufacturing operations.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ **Environmental Compliance & Management:**
+ Develop and maintain environmental management policies and procedures (ISO 14001)
+ Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, state, and local regulations
+ Serve as the primary contact for environmental agencies
+ Monitor, track, and report environmental data
+ Oversee environmental permitting (stormwater, air quality, hazardous waste)
+ Conduct training for employees on environmental compliance
+ **Manufacturing & Process Improvement:**
+ Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
+ Utilize Lean principles, Kaizen, and 5S methodologies
+ Manage capital projects and facility modifications
+ Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams
+ Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and other quality standards
**Qualifications**
+ **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering
+ **Experience:** 5+ years in environmental roles within manufacturing or industrial environments
+ **Certifications:** Ability to obtain RCRA Hazardous Wastes MGMT, Texas Hazardous Industrial Waste MGMT, Hazmat Ground Shipper, and HAZWOPER (Incident Commander Level V)
+ **Skills:** Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations (OSHA, EPA, RCRA, SARA, DOT HAZMAT), proficiency in MS Office and CAD software (AutoCAD), excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills, experience with Lean manufacturing and process optimization
**Work Environment & Physical Demands**
+ Work in both office and manufacturing environments
+ Exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and industrial chemicals
+ Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and lift/move up to 50 pounds
+ Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required
