Environmental Engineer

 

 

Purpose and Scope/General Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Engineering Specialist to join our Environmental Team within our Prepared Foods Business Units. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with government regulations in areas such as air permitting, stormwater, wastewater, RMP, PSM, and others. You will work closely with production facilities to develop and implement programs, train personnel on environmental practices, meet reporting deadlines, and maintain compliance.

 

Our ideal candidate will currently live in the Midwest or Central region of the US and work in one of our Prepared Foods plant locations or a remote/home office.

 

Responsibilities:

Conduct periodic site assessments and provide solutions to the findings of action item at each facility.Manage and update facility environmental scorecards.Provide operational and compliance support for 9 food production facilities across the U.S. Track compliance and assess risks related to environmental programs and processes. Monitor and track net wastewater costs.Advise on capital expense planning to support footprint reduction and cost savings initiatives.Prepare and submit operational and compliance reports, including Tier II, TRI Form R, SPCC, SWPPP, Air Calculations, DMR as well as internal reporting for GHG.Train on-site personnel on environmental compliance and best management practices.Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred. A combination of education and work experience will also be considered.Must be willing and able to travel 50-75% of the time.3-5 years of experience on either environmental, PSM or RMP compliance. 1-2 years of management or leadership experience preferred. Self-driven to learn and adapt quickly and be a team player.Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft office. Experience in SAP or similar system preferredExcellent communication, organizational and multi-tasking skills.Strong sense of urgency and commitment to deadlines.Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodationAs a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations. The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule; Base salary range of $95,000-$120,000; Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program; and Career Development: Our company is dedicated to supporting professional growth by offering continuous learning opportunities and a focus on career growth through various learning and development programs.
