**Job Title: Environmental Field Technician** **Job Description** Respond to environmental emergencies within a 24-hour period. Perform technical field and office work, operate mechanical equipment such as Vac Trucks, Super Duster, forklifts, pallet jacks, lift gates, trucks, trailers, and other mechanical equipment as needed. Conduct clean-up and decontamination procedures. Maintain inventory lists and complete various reports and Field Dailies. Understand the terminology and principles of spill responses. Possess basic knowledge of proper storage, treatment, and disposal of hazardous materials collected during clean-up. Be aware of the potential hazards associated with Hazardous Wastes. Work well with the public, clients, and other employees. Field phone calls and communicate effectively with Field Supervisors. Perform limited chemical tests and work around a variety of chemicals. Prepare equipment and keep accurate field log books. Perform manual labor tasks such as sweeping, shoveling, pushing, and pulling. **Hard Skills** + Operate mechanical equipment + Understand spill response terminology and principles + Knowledge of hazardous material storage, treatment, and disposal + Perform limited chemical tests + Equipment preparation + Maintain accurate field logs **Job Type** This is a contract to hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s). **Work Site** This is a fully on-site position in Titusville, Florida. **Work Environment** Work outside in very hot temperatures, in confined spaces, and around hazardous chemicals. Confined space work includes petroleum tanks and wastewater treatment tanks. Technicians average 55 hours/week, varying between 40 and 80 hours depending on projects. Crews typically consist of 3-5 people, including a driver, equipment operator, and technician. This is a fully on-site position in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida. The job is a contract position with a duration of 6 months.
