Summary:
Performs Environmental Health and Safety activities for UCI employees, visitors and the environment. EHS Coordinator is also responsible for conformance with relevant regulatory requirements and company policies. Evaluates and controls environmental hazards by performing the following duties. Responsible for facilities. Embraces and exemplifies the Umbra Group values of FIRST – Focus on the Customer, Innovation, Respect, Social Responsibility & Teamwork.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Develops, implements, manages and maintains UCI EHS Accident Prevention Program.
+ Manages all Health and Safety trainings and training record management such programs as Lockout/Tagout, Blood Borne Pathogen, Personal Protective Equipment Safety, Emergency Action and Evacuation Plans, Hearing Conservation, Medical Surveillance and Respirator Protection.
+ Completes and maintains the OSHA 300 Log.
+ Investigates incidents/accidents, performs root cause analysis, recommends or implements solutions, prepares Accident Reports, and reports to the relevant party.
+ Implements the Hazard Communication Plan including management and maintenance of the SDS files.
+ Oversees Fire Extinguisher inspections and reconditioning.
+ Develops and oversees the training of forklift operators and their certification.
+ Performs shop observations for health and safety violations.
+ Enforces use of safety equipment.
+ Acts as the Emergency Coordinator for UCI in compliance with WA state regulations.
+ Perform weekly and monthly facility inspections.
+ Conducts Safety Committee Meetings and keeps records.
+ Manages in preparing safety and health budgets.
+ Manages Hazardous Waste profiling, manifesting, disposal contracting and removal. Maintain disposal records.
+ Performs Annual TurboWaste reporting and Annual TurboPlan reporting.
+ Responsible for Universal and Controlled Waste Management.
+ Acts as EHS liaison for local, regional, state, and federal agencies.
+ Manages recycling program.
+ Manages the wastewater discharge permit: monitoring, sampling wastewater, bi-annual DMR reports, and audit.
+ Manage Nital Etch lab chemical management program including periodic change-out, neutralization, wastewater discharge per permit requirements, and program optimization.
+ Oversee air quality permit: periodic internal audit, assist in PSCAA audit
+ Manages and maintains the property in safe and clean condition, including regular maintenance and emergency response.
+ Manages preventative property maintenance to keep the property functioning in good condition, including extermination, leak checks, landscape, and handling of snow or trash removal.
+ Manages budget related to his responsible area and maintain records including inspections, contracts, repairs, janitorial services, and maintenance costs related to the property.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) or equivalent from a four-year College or technical school; or two to five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
There can be one or more employees supervised by this position. Major responsibilities include – but are not limited to – the following: Training employees in special safety processes and directing trained, fellow employees in cleanup responsibilities.
Computer Skills:
Must be computer literate and knowledgeable in Windows XP, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Language, Math, and Reasoning Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, drawings, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Ability to accomplish the following mathematically, in all units of measure: add, subtract, multiply, divide, whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to solve practice problems. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Physical Demands:
+ The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, climb/balance use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to talk and hear and is occasionally required to sit climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance and peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
+ When in the office the noise level in the work environment varies and is usually moderate in an office and manufacturing environment. (Examples: business office with computers and/or computer printers, light traffic).
+ When on the production floor the employee is occasionally exposed to working near moving mechanical parts and extreme cold (non-weather). The job duties that are affected by the environmental conditions are of a typical manufacturing environment and its equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Safety glasses are required when on the shop floor.

Salary Description
$100,000 to $110,000
