The Position

Genentech is looking for an exceptional individual to manage industrial hygiene programs and associated compliance assurance activities for the Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Department at Genentech’s South San Francisco (SSF) site. Key Responsibilities:

Serve as a primary point of contact for Industrial Hygiene programs, risks, and concerns across business units.

Develop, implement, and maintain compliance with IH programs, promoting a robust culture of safety.

Collaborate with multiple leaders within the Genentech organization to meet the needs of our diverse client base at our vibrant SSF campus.

Provide technical support and guidance on programs to a talented team dedicated to collaboration, commitment, and making an impact.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

Eight or more years of environment, health and safety work experience, preferably in manufacturing and/or biotech/pharmaceutical industry.  Must possess solid working knowledge of industrial hygiene procedures related to pharmaceutical research and production.

BS degree from an accredited 4-year college or university with a major in a physical science, life science, engineering, safety, industrial hygiene, or other relevant field.

Self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, be able to multi-task and develop solutions to complex problems, and facilitate the work of cross-functional and inter-departmental teams

Professional registration or certification is required in a directly relevant discipline, with the Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred.

Familiarity with regulatory requirements from OSHA, EPA, DOT, NIOSH, FDA in both GMP and non-GMP environments.

Previous experience working with various types of outsourced partners to ensure compliance and positive business outcomes.

The expected salary range for this position, based on the primary location of California, is $115,000 - $213,600. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.  This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
