Job Description
The EHS Specialist will help support, develop, communicate, train, drive, manage, audit, improve, and measure Kuipers EHS performance. This role will include developing and enhancing EHS compliance and risk management processes. Driving understanding, engagement to provide EHS performance improvement, for the Kuiper portfolio, influence business units leadership, and further integrate EHS into daily operations. The EHS Specialist role will support the development and will execute Amazon Kuiper’s EHS compliance programs. This role is accountable for supporting development and implementation of environmental, health and safety programs, tools and standards in line with Kuiper Global EHS policies. Responsibilities include training and communication in a manner that ensures compliance to regulatory and internal standards, as well as business needs. Key to this role is building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders to support them in determining best in class methods to achieve compliance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Conduct investigations of working conditions in places of employment for the prevention of occupational disease and industrial health hazards. Promote EHS awareness throughout the organization through effective employee communications and participation. Provide serve as key point of contact for safety issues and environmental issues. Support regulated waste management including consolidation and inspections. Conduct compliance tasks including storm water sampling, waste inspections, chemical inventory, and life safety audits. Execute compliance with applicable laws, regulations and customer requirements. Support and conduct EHS audits, developing action plans to resolve findings, and implement countermeasures promptly and effectively. Perform risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Hazard Analysis) for new processes and equipment. Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics to report to onsite management teams and corporate based reporting systems. Support management efforts to ensure compliance with all corporate program expectations and applicable federal and state laws Recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures ergonomics. Establish and manage the safety committee. Drive continual improvement efforts to reduce site safety and environmental risk. Support site stand-up meetings, safety committees, and floor inspections. Candidate must be willing to work any shift, based on availability. Available to work flexible shifts including days, nights and/or weekends
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree or higher in industrial hygiene, occupational health, environmental engineering, environmental science, or a related field or relevant experience Experience in EHS support especially warehousing
Knowledge of OSHA regulations specifically 29 CFR 1910
Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional capacity
Experience maintaining confidentiality in matter involving security and/or personnel issues
Performance Expectations
Arrive at site and attend state up meetings for tips and safety tips Completed corrective actions, conducting risk assessments and supporting folks on the floor for safety hazard Completing EHS safety checks and audits Have a standard work for YB contract team (work expectations) unless there is an emergency and then these would supersede some of those tasks 4 Junior roles would be attending stand up meetings and doing some of the inspections 2 Lead roles would be assessing the risk or checking on the noise in the area or radiation in the area or class 4 lasers Assessing EHS risks and want someone from a manufacturing experience or food production or some sort of experience with manufacturing or warehousing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
ASP, CSP, NEBOSH, CIH, or CHMM certifications Strong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment, and customer focus skills Experience leading and managing a team ability to analyze accident data, new processes, and machinery for potential safety concerns and conduct job hazard and job safety analyses Experience in emergency response and currently holds First Aid and CPR certificates Experience in workers compensation case management Experience supporting compliance with CAA, RCRA, CWA and other local/state/federal environmental regulations. Excellent at creating and maintaining working relationships across all levels and disciplines, receptive to feedback and input from others, and quick to apply changes. Experience with developing and implementing 5S programs.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $70.00
