Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Trainer
Classification: Exempt
Department: EHS
Reports to: EHS Manager
Shift: Monday- Friday 8:30am-5pm
Purpose:
Coordinates all safety and environmental training activities in reducing risks for company through hazard awareness and accident prevention
General Duties:
+ Requires constant physical activity throughout shift(except breaks and lunch) such as walking, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, handling, near/far vision, pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
+ Maintains working knowledge of current environmental, health and safety standards and regulations
+ Assess workplace processes and recognized hazards that may lead to injury and develop training programs to reduce those risks
+ Develop training curriculum in line with regulatory standards and company safety and environmental policies
+ Develop annual/monthly safety and environmental training calendar and schedule classes or events accordingly
+ Monitor training effectiveness through department KPIs
+ Provide required OSHA and EPA training to new hires as part of New Hire Orientation.
+ Monitor Keytroller Informatics System for forklift certification tracking
+ Track all safety and environmental training activities and records
+ Issue required safety training certificates/stickers of completion
+ Conduct high-impact safety training in production areas (e.g. injury simulations)
+ Coordinate required safety and environmental drills (e.g. spills, fire evacuation)
+ Organize and coordinate all safety and environmental awareness events
+ Responsible for all annual required safety and environmental training
+ Responsible for enforcing company safety and environmental policies
+ Will perform other functions as required

+ Self-starter and motivated
+ Multi-tasked and detailed oriented
+ Good computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
+ Good with camera systems (digital camera, video recorder, etc.)
+ Proficient teaching/mentoring skills
+ Proficient presentation skills
+ Communicates well with all departments
Requirements:
+ B. S. degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field and 3-5 years of safety engineering and/or Continual Improvement experience in a manufacturing environment
+ Willing to obtain OSHA General Industry Outreach Trainer or similar Train-the-Trainer certification
+ Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
