Our client, a global packaging manufacturer is hiring for a subsidiary in Yakima, WA. This role is direct hire and offers a full-time, onsite work schedule. We are seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator who will collaborate with leadership and employees in initiatives and strategies surrounding workplace safety and healthy corporate culture.
**Job Title:** EHS Coordinator
**Location:** Yakima, WA
**What’s the Job?**
+ Ensure safety compliance and labor law enforcement with employees
+ Work closely with site leadership to share new and updated information, strategies, and activities surrounding a safe working culture
+ Organize and conduct weekly safety meetings with 1 st and 2 nd shift production workers
+ Assist with investigating incidents involving injuries, near misses, illnesses, first aid, fires, hazard reporting, and property damage
+ Maintain up to date and accurate reporting records and documents for Safety Data Sheets, hazardous waste, management of chemicals, and storage
**What’s Needed?**
+ 1+ years current EHS experience in a production environment
+ Ability to read, comprehend, translate and apply industry regulatory standards and policies
+ Comfortable in presenting and conducting safety trainings and demonstrations to groups of people
+ Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
+ Bilingual Spanish proficiency
