The EHS Coordinator will provide support to the facility Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist while helping facilitate environmental, health and safety programs.
From your EXPERTISE to ours
Key responsibilities for this position include:
· Conduct risk assessments to identify and eliminate or reduce the severity of hazards. Submit work orders for issues found and follow up on completion.
· Conduct periodic facility audits to ensure compliance with established EHS programs, including but not limited to fire extinguisher inspections, eye wash & emergency shower inspections, monitoring of sidewalks & stairs during winter weather, and parking lot checks.
· Assist with New Hire Orientation, employee training, and new hire reviews. Provide training records to the Training & Development Generalist.
· Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective measures determination. Ensure action items are established and completed. File Workers Compensation claims.
· Record keeping of accidents and providing reports as needed.
· Work with EHS Manager to identify key risks in safety programs, policing of policies and ensuring implementation.
· Help prepare for audits.
· Order, manage and stock inventory for first aid kits and personal protective equipment.
· Performing hearing tests.
· Help audit and verify EHS Programs and Certifications including forklift certification, Lock Out-Tag Out competency and others.
· Other site-specific duties as defined by the EHS Specialist.
Candidate must have the following attributes/skills; strong attention to detail and accuracy, personal qualities of tact and dependability, possess good manual dexterity, vision abilities (close, distance color and ability to focus), able to push/pull/lift and carry at least 30 pounds continuously and 50 pounds occasionally, be able to stand and walk for entire shift. Incumbent will be responsible for maintaining safety standards to ensure continuous and efficient line operation and follow all Safety and Quality/Food safety policies. Candidates must be available to work over 40 hours per week as needed (weekends may be required).

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:
Education:
· Associates Degree in Occupational Safety or related field preferred.
Experience:
· One to two years’ experience related to occupational safety preferred.
Specialized Knowledge:
· Manufacturing related experience preferred.
. Ability to teach and implement safety procedures.
. Proficient in computer software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating documents, and procedure manuals.
. Knowledge of principles of training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurements of training effects.
Skills/Abilities:
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Must be dependable and be able to work well individually or in a team environment.

Sign On Bonus & Pay:
We are offering a $2,000* Hiring Bonus to candidates for hourly positions. *Bonus amount is a gross amount. $1,000 will be paid out in following paycheck 90 days after hire; an additional $1,000 will be paid out in following paycheck 180 days after hire. Temporary, part-time and certain rehired employees are not eligible.
Pay: $21.75/hr or more dependent upon skills and experience. Weekend Premium 20% more (+$4.35/hr). Lactalis offers very competitive pay, benefits and paid time off.
Hours: The home shift for this position is 1st Shift, however flexibility in work hours is periodically required. 2nd shift premium (2PM-10PM, $2.00/hr) or 3rd shift premium (10PM-6AM, $2.50/hr) will be applied when more than four hours are worked on that shift during a workday.
