Job Description

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Environmental Health & Safety Specialist – Environmental & Occupational Health

Role Overview:

Serve as a Specialist in the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) department, supporting occupational health and safety and environmental compliance programs, Perform risk assessments, safety surveillance, and equipment inspections, Manage environmental compliance records and reporting, Performs environmental and occupational health and safety audits; advises units on occupational and environmental safety issues, Manages quality assurance reviews of documentation related to occupational health and safety programs to ensure compliance,Assist with maintenance of data metrics and create presentations,Respond to hazardous material spills, and workplace injuries and incidents, Manage disposal of hazardous chemical and medical waste, Provides training and guidance on all safety related issues to MSK Departments including Nursing, Facilities Operations, Environmental Services, etc. Assist with development and recommendations for improvement of Occupational Health and Safety programs including indoor air quality; chemical hygiene; hazard communication; personal protective equipment; blood borne pathogen exposure, asbestos management, respiratory protection, etc. 

Key Qualifications:

2-5 years’ experience in Environmental and Occupational HealthFundamental understanding of basic occupational safety and environmental standards (OSHA, RCRA)Knowledge of city, state, and federal safety regulations.Familiar with chemical hazards, controls, and PPE

Core Skills:

Excellent spoken and written communication skills.Energetic and self-driven, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.Proficient in the use of computers including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Additional Information:

Schedule: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST, Monday - FridayLocation: Onsite, 1275 York Ave with the flexibility to report to other MSK locations as needed.Reporting to: Director, Environmental Health & Safety

Pay Range: $73,900 - $114,400/annually
