Environmental Health & Safety Training Specialist

Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Training Specialist for our Advisory Services team.  

This individual will have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect and build rapport with others. They will be responsible for delivering training sessions for our clients.

This position reports to a Managing Director. This role is hybrid and is based within our NY/NJ and Mid-Atlantic regions. 

Responsibilities: 

Deliver half- and full-day training events for clients. Maintain a client-focused perspective, results-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines in compressed timeframe situations, strategic thinking capabilities, and attention to detail. Promote a proactive EHS culture by engaging employees, conducting training sessions, and implementing behavior-based safety programs. Build high-quality relationships with senior client team members and collaborate with various departments to implement effective strategies.

Basic Requirements: 

5 years minimum experience in the EHS field. Bachelor's Degree required. EHS related field and/or Graduate degree a plus. Knowledge— progressive and recent knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and IATA regulations.  Credentials/experience—the minimum level of education, experience and certifications acceptable for the position.  5+ years of experience with EPA, DOT, and IATA DGR regulations. Must be currently DOT HAZMAT and IATA DGR trained. 3+ years’ experience with OSHA HAZWOPER Standard and/or Emergency Response experience. 3+ years OSHA safety experience. 2+ years of experience instructing adults in a classroom setting. Skills - Verbal and written communication skills.  Interpersonal and customer service skills.  Sales and customer service skills.  Organizational skills and attention to detail.  Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.  Should have a professional understanding of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. Ability to identify and correct training errors through in-classroom evaluations in an adult learning environment. Demonstrated mastery of the art of instruction and content. Physical characteristics— the individual must be able to instruct an 8-hour long class in a classroom environment on client sites and virtually from home or office. Travel Requirements  Must be able to travel on a weekly basis, occasionally overnight. Per-diem and travel reimbursement are provided. Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship. Must have a reliable form of transportation.

Preferred Requirements: 

Preferably holds a Professional Credential (CDGP, CIT, CSP, CHMM, CIH).
