Your Role:
Tetra Tech is seeking a highly motivated and talented part-time Environmental Intern/Co-Op to join our Cincinnati, Ohio office and contribute to a range of environmental projects. As an Environmental Intern, you will have the opportunity to work with experienced environmental scientists and geologists to assist in scientific and administrative tasks, including field data collection, data analysis, and report preparation.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Collecting and entering data using Microsoft Excel and other database applications. Interpreting data and comparing findings to relevant regulations to ensure compliance. Providing quality control review and file management of project deliverables. Field sampling and monitoring that may include various media (soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, soil gas, and air). Supporting coordination and communication with vendors, clients, and subcontractors.You will also have the opportunity to conduct research for ongoing projects, including reviewing regulations, permits, and work plans.

Candidate must be able to sit at a desk/computer in an office environment for office-based tasks. Willingness to learn new tasks and have a strong attention to detail. Must possess strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills (both written and verbal). Must also be highly motivated and work well in a team environment.Education and Certifications:
Currently in pursuit, or recently obtained, a BS/BA or MS in relevant scientific discipline (geology, geophysics, environmental science, engineering, or related field). Candidate must have successfully completed at least two years of study towards a degree (juniors, seniors, graduate students, and recent graduates). Completion of six courses in a relevant scientific discipline described above. GPA of 3.1 or higher.Physical Demands:
Must be able to walk large project sites and must be physically able to carry up to 35 pounds of equipment (such as sampling tools, GPS unit, and field screening equipment) during field work. Work at a desk / computer in an office environment for office-based tasks.Work Environment:
Travel up to 50% for this position will be required. Field activities can take place in a variety of weather conditions, and can occur in remote locations and include areas of uneven terrain or occur during harsh weather conditions. This position will require outdoor work within the U.S. during all seasons, including peak summer and winter conditions. Overnight travel may also be required.Tetra Tech offers a Basic Core Medical Plan and 401k.
