AWe are seeking a professional like you to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading Geismar’s Environmental and Isocyanates Laboratories in a safe and efficient manner. Monitoring of laboratory Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) will be key to ensure that areas of strength are maintained, and continuous improvement opportunities are identified and pursued. The position will lead two separate ISO 9001-certified laboratories that must adhere to regulatory quality requirements including, but not limited to: ISO 9001 systems and Responsible Care Management System (RCMS). In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for leadership and development of a diverse team of Chemist(s), Laboratory Technologists, and Laboratory Technicians.
As a Environmental/ISO Lab Team Lead, You Create Chemistry By... Your attention to detail and analytical background will serve you well in leveraging Statistical Process Control and developing KPIs for determining areas of strength, as well as opportunities for improvementYour basic knowledge of regulatory principles is desirable for supporting compliance efforts for various regulatory standards, including but not limited to: ISO 9001 systems and Responsible Care Management SystemA solid customer focus/solutions mindset will afford you opportunities to evaluate sample methodologies and work processes to ensure that needs of internal business partners and external customers are consistently exceededA creative mindset will be a welcomed attribute for purposes of identifying innovative approaches to historically standard work practicesYour ability to collaborate will allow you to partner with key stakeholders for purposes of developing department-wide objectives and team-specific goals in support of those objectivesYour ability to visualize the abstract will enable you to develop a strategic vision for your teamAgility will serve you well in your interactions with your front-line team, staff professionals, business group peers, as well as functional and business group senior leadershipYou will need
A strong technical background, coupled with extensive experience in laboratory services (including laboratory management), will ensure that required quality controls sampling for raw materials, in-process, and finished goods takes place in support of plant operations and, ultimately, end customer needs. Demonstration of flexibility and agility will enable the selected candidate in managing Sitewide support processes/functions, such as Utilities/Wastewater Treatment sampling programs. Prior supervisory experience, preferably in Quality Control or Quality Assurance) will serve the selected candidate in leading a high performing team in compliance activities as well as continuous improvement efforts. Prior experience in a service function will serve to drive innovation and a customer solutions mindset within the team.
