Environmental Manager

As an Environmental Manager , you will manage an integrated environmental team that engages all refining and recycling operations and maintenance personnel to implement a successful environmental program.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
+ Provides team leadership, risk management guidance, project evaluation, professional development, and strategic support.
+ Plays a strong role in strategic planning for project implementation and/or change and risk management, within the Refining management team.
+ Provides and/or facilitates guidance and expertise on environmental issues, legislation, and best practices. Facilitates clear roles and responsibilities for compliance matters.
+ Develops compliance systems and processes to implement corporate environmental strategy and continuously drive environmental performance.
+ Evaluates compliance trends and identifies major risks and potential compliance issues for refinery operations.
+ Oversees incident root causes and actions to prevent recurrence. Assesses implementation of environmental activities/programs and reports progress.
+ Manages the professional development of department staff; connects staff to other experts in the organization; acts as a staff advocate; provides guidance and mentoring to staff to help them successfully complete their work on time.
+ Develops and implements administrative duties and financial management of the unit.
+ Develops and implements key policies and procedures such as contractor management, workload management, and staff assignment, development, project management, and risk management decision-making.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
+ Must have a High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of ten (8) years’ experience.
+ Must have three (3) to five (5) years' experience or more with direct expertise managing the environmental functions for Base Operation or Facility Maintenance.
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:
+ EPA, SCAQMD, and DTSC.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
+ Must possess strong skills in managing environmental compliance issues for complex refining operations.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Valid U.S. Passport (preferred)
· Valid U.S. Driver’s License with clean driving report
