**POSITION SUMMARY:**
Under minimal supervision the Environmental Manager establishes, develops, implements, audits and trains all aspects of the environmental program on behalf of PRIDE Industries. Employees in this job class inspect and analyze workplace locations, and design initiatives to control, eliminate and prevent incidents, injuries and diseases caused by chemical, physical, and/or biological agents. This job class requires knowledge of environmental regulations and hazardous materials, the ability to train others in safe workplace practices, to inspect job sites and facilities for environmental concerns and develop corrective action plans.
**TYPICAL DUTIES:**
1. *Assists in developing, updating and promoting PRIDE’s Environmental
policies and procedures.
2. *Upholds the legal and regulatory requirements of Local, State and Federal
federal agencies, Department of Transportation (DOT) and the requirements under the Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA), Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act (EPCRA), Federal Insecticide and Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) and the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA).
3. *Supervise staff; ensure a competent, motivated staff though hiring, training, counseling, supervising and reviewing the performance of employees.
4. *Attends bi-weekly National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) meetings. Submits notification of new and additional service provider activities beyond those identified in the contract. Submits proposed real property alterations or modifications for analysis under NEPA to the environmental office prior to altering or modifying any installation real property.
5. *Ensures environmental compliance with all Army and military installation requirements.
6. *Responsible for overseeing and maintaining the Environmental Management System (EMS).
7. *Works with designated Environmental Compliance Representatives for each work area that stores hazardous materials or hazardous wastes, generates hazardous wastes, or uses hazardous materials.
8. *Responsible for complying with all permits and commitments required by Federal, State, Army, and military installation environmental laws and regulations.
9. *Responsible for complying with the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan.
10. *Implements and promotes good housekeeping practices required by the environmental plan throughout the installation.
11. *Maintains a Hazardous Material inventory list for specified PRIDE locations.
12. *Represents PRIDE and attends all quarterly Environmental Quality Controls Committee (EQCC) meetings.
13. *Oversees and ensures all herbicide applied is performed under the IAW including the procurement, processing, handling and application of pesticides and herbicides are in strict accordance with manufacturer's label and EPA. Ensures the Daily Application Report is submitted correctly and timely. Records all insect and weed control operations daily and submits the proper reports to the Contracting Officer as required.
14. *Provides support to Roads and Grounds for clean-up of hazardous materials (HAZMAT) spills. Responds as directed by the Contracting Officer in coordination with Federal environmental personnel within 30 minutes to clean up HAZMAT spills. Complies with provisions in AR 200-1, chapter 3 and applicable law and directives. Transports and/or disposes of residue after cleanup as directed by the Contracting Officer in coordination with federal environmental personnel.
15. *Addresses and provides resources and solutions for safety, environmental, hazardous materials issues and concerns.
16. *Leads the way in determining the root cause of every environmental incident, injury and to ensure preventative measures are identified and implemented.
17. *Acts as worksite Safety Manager in the absence of the Regional Safety Manager.
18. *Responsible for reviewing all incidents, injuries reports for completeness and accuracy prior to being turned in to Regional Safety Manager.
19. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:**
• Three more years of experience in environmental health and safety regulations to include; Federal-OSHA, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA) and familiarity with the Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plan (SPCC);
• Supervisory skills to hire qualified employees, provide for their professional development, administer performance management and disciplinary processes effectively, and address employee relations appropriately;
• Ability to effectively supervise and develop assigned team to meet production/service goals while adhering to safety policies and rules;
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to make presentations and respond to inquiries by senior management, customers and/or employees;
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational, reasoning, problem solving and analytical skills;
• Exceptional customer service skills;
• Human relation skills to build effective relationships with team, customers and public;
• Advanced computer literacy including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software;
• Knowledge of business English including vocabulary, spelling, and correct grammatical usage and punctuation;
• Mathematical skills to include the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations;
• Ability to establish priorities and solve a wide range of business, operational and strategic management problems;
• Flexibility to respond to changing work priorities and handle numerous projects at the same time.
**EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:**
Associates
A comparable combination of formal education and work experience will be considered.
**CERTIFICATES OR LICENSES REQUIRED:**
The following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements:
Fed Security Clearance
Valid Driver's License
**PHYSICAL REQURIEMENTS:**
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance:
• Maneuvering to and around equipment
• Bending, kneeling, stooping and reaching
• Climbing stepstools or ladders
• Lifting and moving equipment weighing up to 25 pounds
• Transporting to various locations within customer site
• Monitoring computer systems
• Utilizing keyboard
**WORK ENVIRONMENT:**
Work is performed primarily in an office environment with limited privacy and exposure to noise from others conducting business. The remainder of work is performed on job sites in the field, driving to and from worksite. Employees may be exposed to noise from equipment, and depending on external weather conditions, wind, rain, cold, and heat.
