Job Description

Join a global bio-pharmaceutical company specializing in generic sterile injectable manufacturing as an Environmental Monitoring Analyst II. You will be a key member of the Environmental Monitoring Team, responsible for viable and non-viable monitoring of manufacturing areas, including air, water, and surface sampling. You will log samples in a proprietary LIMS and adhere to cGMP documentation practices. Additionally, you will process water, product, and commodity samples and perform bioburden testing.

ResponsibilitiesConduct viable and non-viable monitoring of manufacturing areas, including air, water, and surface sampling.Log samples in a proprietary LIMS and adhere to cGMP documentation practices.Process water, product, and commodity samples.Perform bioburden testing on samples.Assist Supervisors with training new hires and integrating them into the pharmaceutical industry.Act as an interim lead for the supervisor as needed.Participate in process improvement initiatives when requested.Take thousands of samples a day to support other microbiology labs in completing their testing on time.Conduct bioburden testing on water samples and pharmaceutical product samples.Test commodities for viable and non-viable particulates.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or related life science field with 1+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience in environmental monitoring.Associate's degree or HS diploma with 3-4 years of environmental monitoring experience in the pharmaceutical industry.Experience gowning and sampling in an aseptic manufacturing environment.Proficiency in LIMS and MODA systems.Knowledge of cGMP manufacturing and clean room practices.Aseptic lab processing and bioburden testing.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with environmental monitoring in a pharmaceutical lab setup.Comfortable with aseptic gowning in tight spaces.Flexibility with scheduling if things do not go as planned.Work Environment

The role involves working night shifts on a 2,2,3 rotating schedule from 7pm to 7am in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. You will spend approximately 80% of your time in the manufacturing areas sampling, and about 20% in the laboratory. The team consists of 45-50 people split across day and night shifts, with 4 supervisors leading teams of 5-8 analysts each. Gowning for this role is essential, and you must be comfortable working without makeup, fake nails, or jewelry when sampling. You will undergo extensive training with specific team trainers, and the entire process will take a few months. This role offers significant growth opportunities and the chance to work in various classified areas (A, B, C, D) within the industry.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
