Job Description

As an Environmental Monitoring Lab Technician, you will perform key environmental monitoring tests including bioburden, TOC, and endotoxin on collected samples. Your duties will encompass air sampling, particulate counting, surface monitoring, and personal monitoring of clothing. You will be responsible for maintaining gowning certification, applying good aseptic technique, and adhering to clean room behavior. You will collect and process samples for water for injection (WFI), clean steam, and compressed gases according to established standard operating procedures. You will also perform bioburden, endotoxin, TOC, and conductivity testing for utility samples, sub-culturing, Gram-staining of microorganisms, and growth promotion on incoming media. Additionally, you will maintain and review temperature records, lab cleaning records, and logbooks. Inputting results in the LIMS database and tracking microbiological results will be part of your responsibilities. You will compile and submit environmental monitoring data for critical system release, support Scientists and Supervisors with testing and special projects, report data discrepancies, assist with investigations, and help train new departmental personnel. Compliance with company policies, training requirements, cGMPs, and safety requirements is essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Microbiology, or related (0-2 years of experience) Or Associate's Degree with 1+ years of microbiology lab experience About Actalent
