Environmental Planner
Job Title: Environmental PlannerJob Description The Environmental Planning Lead will be key in the successful completion of projects that require navigation through federal, state, and local regulations and permitting processes. The candidate must be well-versed in NEPA and CEQA. Working with the team, the Sr. Planner will provide comprehensive planning, sound science, practical engineering, and outcome-based solutions to clients and their projects. The Sr. Planner must be recognized as an expert within the community and must have experience mentoring staff. Past consulting experience is highly desirable. Responsibilities + Navigate federal, state, and local regulations and permitting processes. + Provide comprehensive planning, sound science, and practical engineering solutions. + Offer outcome-based solutions to clients and their projects. + Mentor and guide staff members. + Engage in project management and business development. + Lead the scope and delivery of projects. + Conduct environmental reviews and ensure compliance. + Handle permitting and documentation processes. + Participate in construction and transportation planning. Essential Skills + Project management + NEPA and CEQA expertise + Environmental planning + 10-20+ years of experience + Business development + Mentorship and leadership + Environmental review and compliance + Construction and transportation planning + Permitting and documentation Additional Skills & Qualifications + Consulting experience + Experience with marketing, proposal writing, and job development + Experience with regulatory agencies and federally/state funded projects + Excellent oral and written communication skills Work Environment The firm has nearly 100 employees across offices in Richmond, Sacramento, Lake Tahoe, Fountain Valley, California, and Reno, Nevada. The team is diverse, consisting of engineers, scientists, planners, geologists, regulatory and permitting specialists, and field technicians.
