Tech2 Solutions (T2S) is a critical subcontractor on the N3B Los Alamos LLC team and will be providing program management and technical services in support of the ground & surface water monitoring program at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Los Alamos National Laboratory.

 

T2S is a full-service engineering and environmental consulting company with a worldwide reach in the areas of environmental monitoring and remediation, national security, systems engineering, data management and analytics for both federal and commercial customers. 

 

T2S is seeking an Environmental Professional to support the Groundwater Monitoring Project under the N3B Los Alamos Legacy Cleanup Contract (LLCC). This role involves sample collection, instrument calibration, and detailed notetaking, with responsibilities including purge water management and potentially generating sampling calendars and reports. The Environmental Professional will ensure all activities are performed safely, maintain necessary training, comply with procedural and regulatory standards, and prioritize safety and security.

 

Your Role:

·         Collect groundwater samples from monitoring wells, springs, and base flow locations, ensuring detailed documentation per the sampling plan.

·         Maintain quality control throughout the sample collection process.

·         Assist with the installation of pressure transducers and collection of water level measurements.

·         Operate generators, trailers, and various sampling equipment in the field.

·         Calibrate, use, and maintain water quality meters, and maintain calibration logbooks.

·         Ensure all groundwater sampling equipment meets applicable quality and maintenance standards.

·         Coordinate with and take direction from project leads as required.

·         Support projects by requesting site access, tabulating data, and consolidating data into field summary reports.

·         Comply with all health & safety policies.

·         Use a transfer pump and manage poly tanks for purge water storage and disposition.

·         Perform other duties in support of the Water Program as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

·         Associate’s degree in engineering, science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent. Relevant experience demonstrating the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities is acceptable.

·         Familiarity and experience with pressure systems (e.g., nitrogen tanks and gauges) preferred.

·         Familiarity with or willingness to learn to drive a full-sized pickup with a trailer preferred.

·         Mechanical aptitude preferred.

·         Ability to perform basic tasks and develop innovative solutions to problems.

·         Ability to recommend approaches for new and improved processes.

·         Ability to work with broad objectives and determine the best way to accomplish tasks.

·         Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with team members and project leads.

·         Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.

·         Familiarity with computer programs, including Word and Excel.

·         Ability to work in a team-oriented project environment.

·         Familiarity with RCRA waste management practices and sample planning desired.

·         Familiarity with the LANL site and work environment preferred.

·         A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed.

·         Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

 

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements (Moderate Work):

·         Regularly required to communicate effectively with field team members.

·         Noise level typically quiet to moderate.

·         Physical demands include exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, and negligible force constantly to move objects. Must be able to carry up to 35 pounds while hiking.

·         Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, hike, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

·         Specific vision abilities include close vision and distance vision.

 

General:

·         The position involves working outdoors, possibly walking and hiking several miles while carrying equipment weighing approximately 35 lbs.

·         The role may involve supporting one or more of the following projects within the N3B Water Program: Stormwater/IP Inspection, Surface Water Monitoring, Drilling, Storm Water Corrective Actions, and/or Groundwater Remediation.

·         The candidate may be required to attain and maintain a DOE Q or L clearance.

·         Must be able to perform the job's essential functions with reasonable accommodation.

·         Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and accept all company policies.

·         A physical fit-for-duty screening may be required.
