Environmental Project Professional
Job Title: Environmental Project ProfessionalJob Description We are seeking an experienced environmental scientist or geologist to provide project coordination, data review, data analysis, report writing, and field oversight on active remediation systems. The role involves mainly office work, with some field assignments. The Project Professional will produce final draft reports and engineering design documents for private and municipal clients and will serve as a delegate on one or more projects. This role requires independent judgment and the ability to complete tasks with minimal direction. Responsibilities + Coordinate and manage field work for multiple projects. + Lead, mentor, and manage junior-level staff. + Delegate portions of project deliverables to junior staff for completion. + Record data during field work, including soil characteristics, lithology, groundwater or surface water data, photographs, and visual observations according to standard operating procedures. + Evaluate and interpret field data for reporting purposes and future project needs. + Complete engineering calculations and use applicable modeling programs. + Coordinate and review drawing and plan set preparation. + Conduct and document construction quality assurance observations to ensure compliance with construction documents. + Communicate with clients for field work coordination, project updates, reporting, design document status, permitting status, and meetings. + Prepare budgets and schedules for client projects and manage budgets, invoicing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and scheduling. + Write and prepare reports such as proposals, Phase I and Phase II assessments, Soil Management Plans, Dust Control Plans, environmental site assessments, emission reports, groundwater compliance reports, and more. + Lead permit processing and regulatory agency coordination efforts. + Complete quality control reviews on all work products before submission. + Participate in required health and safety training. + Review technical documents for completeness and conformance to requirements. + Serve as a resource for junior staff and assist them in resolving project-specific issues. Essential Skills + 2+ years of environmental remediation and site assessment experience. + Experience with project coordination, environmental science, geology, soil sampling, hazardous waste, environmental compliance, and water sampling. + Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). + High attention to detail. + Advanced health and safety knowledge. + Excellent written and oral communication skills. + Advanced problem-solving skills. + Mastery of field testing equipment. + Ability to read and understand engineering design plans. + Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory agencies and codes. + Knowledge of Deltek, project financials, purchase orders, invoicing, project budgets, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. + Ability to troubleshoot field testing equipment and solve issues. + Understanding of scientific concepts including physics, statistics, chemistry, mathematics, and geosciences. + Ability to use basic hand tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Science from an accredited institution. + Preferably on track for PG or PE License (if degree eligible). + Valid Driver’s License. Work Environment This role is based in either the Coconut Creek or Miami offices, primarily in an office setting with some field work required.
