ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPEACIALIST
Summary You will serve as an ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND of NAVFAC NORTHWEST. SALARY: GS-09: $67,147 - $87,291 GS-11: $81,242 - $105,612 Responsibilities You will identify environmental compliance issues related to drinking water quality, wastewater and stormwater treatment, air quality, POL storage tanks, spill prevention, hazardous waste, solid waste and/or natural and cultural resources. You will assist in implementation of standard environmental compliance technologies and/or solutions. You will perform efficient data management. You will develop and conduct training on environmental compliance matters and requirements You will assist in preparation of environmental compliance guidance. You will assist in implementation of the Oil and Hazardous Substances Spill Prevention and Response Program. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications FOR GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the 09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Identifying, developing, and implementing environmental compliance activities; 2) Providing technical advice to assist in resolving critical issues regarding compliance with environmental law and regulations and 3) Applying environmental planning concepts required under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). FOR GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the 07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing assistance in administering environmental protection programs; 2) Applying relevant environmental regulatory standards and criteria; and 3) Ensuring that data are collected and reported promptly and accurately. OR You successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. OR You successfully completed a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent. OR You have successfully completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree.
