If this sounds like you, please apply today!Investigate citizen concerns and pollution incidents relating to water and air quality and pollution sources.Conduct proactive field assessments for potential violation concerns. doneConduct field testing and sampling to determine compliance with permits and water quality standards.Determine the extent of code violations and prepare enforcement documents along with supporting documentation.Act as a code enforcement official in bringing cases before the Special Magistrate and testify, as necessary, in other hearings or court proceedings.Interact extensively with homeowners, businesses, responsible parties, and government agencies, as appropriate, to provide information, discuss concerns and findings, and effect resolutions and remedial actions.Independently conduct stormwater compliance inspections of Sites of Industrial Activity and permitted facilities to monitor compliance with County and NPDES Stormwater regulations. doneConduct follow-up inspections.Participate in educational outreach activities and provide presentations.Organize data for the county’s annual NPDES MS4 report to the State.Provide your Supervisor with data for performance measures.

Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

About You

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in the biological or physical sciences or related field AND two (2) years of professional experience.-OR- Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in the biological or physical sciences or related field AND one year of professional experience.-OR- Progressively responsible professional experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required college degree.A valid Florida Driver's License at the date of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

HAZWOPER, F.A.C.E. Fundamentals of Code Enforcement, and/or Florida Stormwater Erosion and Sediment Control Inspectors certification.FSA Stormwater Operator Level one or two (2) certification.Experience with using Accela, GIS, and Microsoft Office.

Subject to Passing Substance Screening:  This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening.  An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment for a period of five (5) years.

About Everything Else

Starting Pay Range: $52,936.00 - $56,000.00, based upon experience.
