SUMMARY

Paragon Professional Services, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Environmental Quality Control Manager for support of the Umiat Landfill Remediation Project. The person will act as the QC Manager on a Design/Build Environmental Remediation project.  This full-time position is based in Anchorage, Alaska but will require remote field work in a camp situation in Umiat, Alaska.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Create and manage project submittal registersAssist with creating project specific Quality Control Plan’sCollection & Submission of all necessary submittalsCoordination & lead Preparatory Phase meetingsConduct Initial Phase & Follow UP Phase Meetings as requiredAssure safety requirement are strictly adhered toPrepare and submit daily Quality Control reports as required by contract Qualifications

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications

This individual shall have completed the USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractor’s trainingCurrent or readily made current 40 hr HAZWOPR IATA trainingHave at least 5 years of experience related to the oversight of remedial/removal actions involving contaminated soil excavation, packaging, manifesting, transportation, and offsite disposal. The CQCSM’s experience shall also include implementation of onsite/in situ environmental remediation.

 

Preferred

Experience in remote locations is a camp-type settingMust have working knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software (MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and Outlook Valid Driver’s LicenseAbility to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with military personnel, management and colleagues,Experience using Resident Management System

This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation “safety-sensitive” functions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

The Project Quality Control Manager duties are performed in both office and field (construction site) settings. Occasional travel may be required. It also requires adjusting work time to accommodate the project demands.

The job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily in a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises direct reports.

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
