We are seeking an experienced and talented **_Scientist III (Environmental Risk Assessor)_** to join our team in **_Bedford, OH or Dublin, OH ._** The ideal candidate will collaborate with teams in the Great Lakes Area and teams across the U.S. on human health risk assessments and ecological risk assessments for brownfields, Superfund sites, hazardous waste management units and other sites where hazardous substances or petroleum related chemicals pose a potential or known environmental or regulatory concern.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Perform human health and ecological risk assessment calculations, statistical calculations and trend analyses, conduct analytical chemistry data validation tasks, perform environmental fate and transport models, assist in the creation of exceedance maps and other illustrations for data interpretation and presentation
+ Create and query databases containing environmental analytical chemistry results
+ Prepare text, tables and figures for technical memos, reports and presentations to document project findings, conclusions, and recommendations
+ Safety Planning, health and safety plan (HASP) preparation, occasional field sampling and be responsible for personal safety in the field
+ Travel to project meetings and sites
+ Conduct meetings with clients and state and federal regulators
+ Occasionally manage small projects
**Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Human Health Risk Assessment, Human Toxicology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Data Science, Biology, Environmental Chemistry or a related degree
+ Master’s degree is a plus
+ 5-10 years of environmental consulting or science experience
+ Preferred experience conducting environmental site assessments, human health risk assessments and ecological risk assessments for contaminated sites
+ Preferred experience with projects associated with the following: Ohio VAP Brownfields, RCRA, CERCLA, Oil and Gas Wells, and retail gasoline stations
+ Demonstrated experience managing project tasks and assignments
+ Demonstrated technical experience and knowledge of current risk assessment practices, industry practices, and state and federal risk assessment regulations and guidance
+ Demonstrated experience regularly interfacing with clients, counsel, regulatory agencies, and contractors
+ Demonstrated experience conducting human health and ecological risk assessment project tasks and assignments
+ Experience with review and synthesis of site data (activities, associated contaminants, environmental data, risk assessment calculations)
+ Experience with the development of conceptual site models and contaminant fate and transport
+ Proficient with Microsoft 365
+ Proficient in data computation and analyses as well as scientific writing
+ Must have a valid driver’s license
+ Must have a personal vehicle for independent transportation to office and project sites
