Job Description

Fieldwork such as soil, soil gas, surface water, air monitoring, and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, and remediation treatment system operation and maintenance. Soil boring logging; monitoring well installation, aquifer testing, and groundwater monitoring. Preparation of soil boring and well construction logs. Evaluating chemical and hydrogeological data, including mapping and reporting. Data analysis and database management, including preparing tables, maps and figures using AutoCAD and GIS applications. Contamination assessment services, such as designing and implementing sampling plans, pilot test designs, and bench scale testing programs. Performing remediation system operation and maintenance services. Conducting remedy evaluation, cost estimating, design, and implementation. Support Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and Transaction Screening Assessments. Assisting in the development of proposals and other business development activities.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Downers Grove, Illinois.

Work Environment

This position is open as the company continues to stay busy, win work and grow their team. This individual will report to the Environmental Regional Manager. The environmental team provides environmental assessment and remediation services for retail, commercial, industrial, aerospace, and government projects. We specialize in providing services for large, complex sites including RCRA and CERCLA 'Superfund' Sites. Project lengths and time in field could vary. Could be working on 1-3 projects at a time. Some projects could require being in the field for 1-3 weeks or in the office for the same amount of time if helping with data analysis and reporting. Overall, this position is about 50/50 in field and office on the average. This could vary depending on each project. At times, could be in the field 70% of the time and vice versa with office. The company as a whole operates on a hybrid schedule. Most of the job sites are in Illinois and Northwest IN. There is occasional overnight travel, however, it is only about 15 nights per year if anything. This individual will use their own vehicle and receive mileage reimbursement in addition to per diem for any overnight travel. They do have a company truck for longer-term projects where more field gear is required. This individual has the opportunity to grow into a Project Manager and take projects from start to finish. This individual will also be working under a PG and PE and has the ability to obtain relevant certifications.
