**Job Overview:**
APTIM's Baton Rouge, LA office is seeking a full time Geologist, Engineer, or Environmental Scientist for our Louisiana region with experience in the development and implementation of environmental site investigations and remedial actions at retail petroleum facilities. The successful candidate will possess at least six to eight years' experience participating in various scopes associated with environmental site assessment, monitoring, and technical report preparation, and demonstrate a willingness to contribute to a collaborative team environment.
Experience may include but is not limited to: Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) Underground Storage Tank Closure Assessment Regulations, working knowledge of the Louisiana Motor Fuels Underground Storage Tank Trust Fund, installation of environmental soil borings and monitoring wells, collection and documentation of soil and groundwater samples for laboratory analysis, Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, environmental permitting, installation of environmental remediation systems, implementation of both in-situ and ex-situ remedial actions underground storage tank system inspections, and working knowledge of Federal, and other State, and local environmental regulations. This position requires the ability to conduct field work, interruption of soil and groundwater analysis, desktop analysis, report writing with the occasional overnight travel, and application of knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and nonstandard situations.

**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Provides technical support to clients in a variety of work scopes including but not limited to: environmental site characterization, monitoring, permitting, regulatory reporting, Phase I and Phase II due diligence for residential and commercial projects.
+ Assist in application for inclusion on the Louisiana UST Response Action Contractors (RAC) list.
+ Collects and interprets soil, groundwater, and air samples.
+ Executes field work, within project schedule and budgetary goals, and supervises contractors.
+ Conducts work independently or as part of a project team and can adjust to rapidly changing site conditions or client requirements.
+ Adheres to established health and safety policies and procedures and executes work in a safe and conscientious manner.
+ Conducts Petroleum Storage Tank Closure Assessments in accordance with State and Local standards, and client requirements.
+ Report writing for Phase I/II environmental assessments in accordance with ASTM Standards, including interpretation and presentation of collected data in reports that include text, tables, and figures suitable for client and regulatory review.
+ Assist Project Managers with running project including handling project-related tasks, such as setting up Purchase Orders, scheduling subcontractors, scheduling field personal, tracking deadline for client submittals, etc.
+ Supports environmental permitting and permit compliance projects.
+ Drafts technical documents for regulatory agencies and private clients.
+ Understands technical concepts, evaluation results, plans, reports, and ensures conformance to applicable technical standards as well as company policies and procedures.
+ Manages own schedule and balances multiple priorities to meet project targets and deadlines.
+ Utilizes best practices and knowledge of internal and external business systems to improve products or services as a collaborative member of the APTIM team.
**Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering/Science, Biology, Hydrology, or related field required.
+ Specialty in Hazardous Material Cleanup and removal/Site Remediation.
+ Professional Geologist/Engineering License in the state of Louisiana preferred but not required.
+ Certification as an Asbestos Containing Materials Inspection preferred but not required.
+ Must have 6 to 8 years of applicable experience.
+ Must have a valid Driver's License.
+ Strong written and oral communication skills.
+ Ability to travel as needed with occasional overnight stays.
+ Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather.
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
+ Current HAZWOPER certification preferred.
+ Experience working in Louisiana geologic environments.
+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, scientific computer programs, and groundwater modeling preferred.
