This role is also anticipated to include managing and mentoring of a nationwide team of Environmental Scientists as we continue to expand that group of technical professionals. The preferred candidate would be a scientist or engineer with prior experience supporting characterization and remediation projects in a technical role who desires to transition into a Project Manager career track. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are a must, including the ability to communicate clearly and confidently, both written and verbally, to all project team members including client representatives and regulatory personnel alike. **What you can expect from APTIM:** + Work that is worthy of your time and talent + Respect and flexibility to live a full life at work and at home + Dogged determination to deliver for our clients and communities + A voice in making our company better + Investment into your personal and professional development **Key Responsibilities:** + Applies technical expertise to improve project and proposal effectiveness from a technical, quality and safety perspective. + Performs various task management activities from project initiation through project closeout including project estimating, cost tracking and schedule support. + Manage a team of environmental scientists with varying technical backgrounds and levels of experience, including project assignments and career development. + Support project planning and execution in accordance with established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements. + Assists in the preparation and facilitation of internal and external project meetings with project team members, regulatory personnel, and client representatives. + Maintain strict adherence to company safety and quality programs. **Basic Qualifications:** + Must have a minimum of 7 years' experience in direct support of environmental characterization and remediation projects. + Experience supporting DoD and CERCLA-funded projects. + Possess a Bachelors' degree in a scientific or engineering discipline. + Currently certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or desire to readily attain. + Current OSHA HAZWOPER and USACE CQM Certifications preferred. + Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to travel to project sites and APTIM offices as required. + Willingness to work occasional overtime, including weekends, to meet project deadlines. **Who we are and what we do:** APTIM is a global industry leader headquartered in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
