Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Geologist to oversee various drilling activities, including direct push, hollow stem, and sonic methods. The role involves collecting soil, groundwater, and vapor samples, preparing technical reports, analyzing field data, and assisting with site investigation, data analysis, and report preparation activities. Additionally, the Geologist will coordinate and implement field project work, oversee drilling, monitor environmental media, and manage subcontractors.

This position is open due to an employee relocation. The company operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring office presence at least 3 days a week. The role involves traveling out of state about one week every month, with most projects local to Chicago. Initially, the individual will spend about 70% of their time in the field, gaining experience. The company provides trucks for client sites requiring overnight travel or further job sites, and allows car rentals with expense reimbursement if trucks are unavailable. Typical daily travel involves using personal vehicles with mileage reimbursement. The role requires a 40-hour HAZWOPER certification prior to starting. Long-term opportunities include obtaining professional licensure (e.g., PE, PG) and advancing to project manager roles.
