Job Title: Environmental Scientist
Seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Environmental Scientist in the New York City area.The successful candidate will support various environmental projects, including hazardous materials inspections, environmental monitoring, field inspections, and field sampling. This is an excellent opportunity for a early-career professional to gain hands-on experience and grow within a dynamic and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct hazardous materials inspections, assessments, and report writing, focusing on mold and asbestos.Perform environmental monitoring using Community Air Monitoring Program (CAMP) stations.Conduct field inspections for Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) and Best Management Practices (BMPs).Collect and analyze field samples, including soil, surface water, groundwater, air, and Underground Injection Control (UIC) samples.Prepare detailed and accurate reports based on field data and laboratory results.Assist in the development and implementation of environmental management plans.Collaborate with sr scientists and project managers to ensure project goals are met.Maintain accurate records and documentation of field activities and findings.Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements during fieldworkQualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Chemistry, or a related field.0-2 years of experience in environmental science or a related field.Knowledge of hazardous materials, environmental monitoring, and field sampling techniques.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Willingness to travel to various field sites as required.Valid driver's license.Preferred Qualifications:
Additional certifications (e.g., Air Sampling Professional).Previous experience working with environmental consulting firms or contractors.Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $39.00 - $55.00
