Job Title: Environmental Scientist
Job Description

We are seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our team in Miami. You will be trained and mentored in various field responsibilities and will be responsible for soil management oversight, well installation oversight, soil/groundwater sampling, operation & maintenance of remediation systems, and other various environmental field-related tasks. You will support a variety of environmental projects, including land redevelopment, electric utility, remediation, chemical/petroleum spill projects, and municipal solid waste landfill projects.

ResponsibilitiesConduct site reconnaissance surveying using GIS software and hand-held devicesOversee monitoring well installationConduct groundwater samplingOversee advancement of soil boringsCollect soil samplesConduct air monitoringMonitor gas vapor systemsMaintain mechanical field equipmentPerform construction quality assurancePrepare field notes and environmental sampling log documentationPerform equipment calibrations and maintain equipment calibration logsEssential SkillsBachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science or a similar fieldExperience in environmental field workValid Driver's License with a driving record in good standingAbility to learn and follow technical protocols and proceduresBasic computer skillsAbility to perform fieldwork in adverse conditions, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods of timeAbility to travel overnight for work and extended out-of-town fieldworkStrong communication skills, written documentation, attention to detail, and solid judgmentCompletion of (or ability to complete) a 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) trainingAdditional Skills & QualificationsFamiliarity with mechanical systems used for environmental remediationExperience with electrical systems, pumps, blowers, motors, air compressorsWork Environment

The role involves a mix of field and office work. You will report to the Maitland office daily. The work environment includes exposure to various field conditions, and you may be required to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods. Overnight travel and extended out-of-town fieldwork may be required. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
