We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Environmental Service Worker II - Environmental Services - Full Time, Evenings - Environmental Srvcs.
In this role, the successful candidate Long Island Community Hospital serves a diverse population of patients including those with special needs at all stages of the life cycle Environmental Service Worker II demonstrates the ability to deal effectively with various age groups of patients visitors and staff in order to provide required duties The unique physical and psychosocial needs of patients relative to age specific requirements are considered in the provision of ESW II duties Communication skills must be demonstrated through age specific interactions that enhance customer satisfaction
Job Responsibilities:

Ability to prioritize work assignments Communicate with ES Supervisor Communicate progress of assigned duties to ES Supervisor including completion of assignment At beginning of shift communicate with ES Supervisor/ES Assistant Director regarding the day rsquo;s agenda and goals At end of shift communicates to ES Supervisors any assignments not completed Dry mops/damp mops assigned areas Ability to operate floor buffing equipment Operates automatic scrubbing machine Is Familiar and demonstrates the ability to make decisions on what products needed to complete assignment on time Ensures floor is free of debris Keeps corners and baseboards clean in assigned areas Ensures all safety procedures are followed in the completion of duties Obtains equipment and supplies in an efficient manner Ensures all equipment is safe and in proper working condition Has knowledge of all chemicals and their proper usage Is knowledgeable of equipment used for moving heavy objects and uses it safely Breaks down equipment at the end of shift Places equipment in proper storage area Notifies Environmental Supervisor of the equipment in need of repair Familiar with chemicals used in the curtain cleaning and their proper usage Has knowledge of all equipment used in curtain cleaning processes Inspects and washes curtains as assigned by Environmental Supervisor Interfaces with ES Supervisor on areas that need curtains cleaned Removes curtains for cleaning Replaces curtains after cleaning Can operated washer and Dryer safely and according to manufacture instruction Empties all trashcans Cleans receptacles Identifies and corrects safety hazards i e spills etc Replaces liners Transports all trash to waste staging area consistently throughout the day Operates equipment following all safety policies and procedures Cleans immediate area surrounding trashcans Separates cardboard red bag black bag recycling and places in appropriate receptacles Demonstrates safety while pulling carts throughout the Medical Center
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High school diploma or equivalency in order to follow written work assignments maintain records Approximately one to three months experience to gain knowledge of cleaning procedures and power equipment use and maintenance Continued education through appropriate seminars workshops participation in departmental meetings inservices attention to Brookhavens memorandum Good interpersonal skills demonstrable in interactions with staff administrators patients and visitors

Long Island Community Hospital provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $45,630.00 - $45,630.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
