The Director position at Cleveland Clinic plays a vital role in supporting the organization's mission and vision by ensuring that healthcare facilities are safe, clean, and compliant with environmental standards. This role involves optimizing cleaning protocols, maintaining regulatory compliance, supporting innovation, and promoting sustainability to uphold Cleveland Clinic's commitment to providing world-class healthcare services and advancing the future of medicine. 

 

A caregiver in this position works days, 7:00am—4:00pm. 

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Develop annual goals for Environmental Services consistent with the organization's mission and strategic plan. 

Review and select products and equipment to ensure compliance with facility specifications. 

Monitor activities to ensure compliance with health department and other regulatory agencies. 

Analyze staffing patterns and make changes to ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained. 

Oversee environmental standards across multiple hospitals and ambulatory sites, ensuring a safe, clean, and compliant environment. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related field. 

Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work unsupervised. 

Can work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. 

Executive with a demonstrated hospitality or housekeeping management record of accomplishment consisting of at least 10 years of experience. 

Additional relevant experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Physical Requirements:

Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects.

Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.

Note: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.
